Uluru

Uluru formerly know as Ayers rock is located in the the Southern part if the Northern Territory. It's latitude is 25°23'S and it's longitude is 131°5'E. It is 335 km south west of Alice springs. Uluru height is 348m and it's circumference is 9.4km.

 
The unique aspect is natural landform.  It is one of the seven wonders and you can't visit Australia without visiting the famous Uluru. It is the largest monoliths (single great stone) in the world.  One aspect of why it is unique is because the colour changes due to  the effect the sun has. Sunrises and sunsets can cause the colour to vary from browns to oranges, to red and also grey.  It is also unique because the rock has alot of aboriginal significance because as they believe that there spirits of there long ancestors are living in the rock.

  • People are allowed to climb Uluru however it is request that the visitors do not climb as Uluru has great significance to the aborignal people and is a sign of respect.
